About Us

Houston Dr. Sketchy from Ed Schipul's lens

Houston Sketchy is run by a feisty, witty and ridiculously attractive group of sketchy hooligans. Together we giggle and scribble, find beautiful models to show off, play killer music, hand out copious amounts of alcohol and run the sexy madness that we call the H-Town Sketch.

You’ll see lots of faces at our Sketchy events, but here are a few to keep an eye out for to compliment us on our amazing sense of personal style.  Or something.  Basically, if you need anything during Sketchy these are the mugs to look out for and we’ll do you right.

Thanks for being a part of the Houston Dr. Sketchy family – without you, we’d be a bunch of boring people drawing blank walls laughing at our own jokes.  YOU make everything we do that much cooler.

Hi, I’ve never done figure studies before, but have always wanted to, and this seems like a good place to start. The laughter and alcohol will help distract me from how abyssmal my drawing skills might turn out to be, and no icy stares from an art teacher as they move around the room(never took an art class in my life, though I am a hopelessly addicted doodler and sketcher). I have no attitude, cool or otherwise, that pretty much went away in my 30′s which are in my rearview now, and I try not to make life any more difficult for other people than it already is. I’m housetrained and don’t hump legs(my wife smacked me with a rolled up newspaper and that took care of that). Anyways, thinking of coming this Sunday for the first time, anything I should know other than bring a paper and pencil and a few bucks?
